MIS and JPII Folks,
On Dec 6th, I will have a table at the Farmers Branch Bark Park (part of the Rec Center) for their Feliz Navi Dog event. All the proceeds from this event will go towards funding the scholarship awards for the April 27th, 2025 annual scholastic chess tournament.
Friday Dec 6th, 6-8pm
FB Bark Park
14090 Heartside Pl, Farmers Branch, TX 75234
(same place as the annual tournament)
I am offering Service Hours for students who need them and want to come work the table. I’ll sign-off for up to 3 hrs, in 1 hr increments. The event is from 6-8pm, so hours include set up at 5:30 all the way thru breakdown till 8:30pm. I’ll need to know ahead of time when your student would like to work, 530-630, 630-730, or 730-830, or any combination of those times.
I am also offering a 10% discount to all Chess Club families if you come down and buy anything from the table.
We will be selling Dog Paw decals that are super high quality made by Crystal Heiress (a local Frisco, TX company). They are carwash safe but can also go on nearly any flat surface, back of a laptop, a window, a door, etc…
Come down, bring your puppy, check everything out, and also, tell all your friends…
2024/25 Chess Club starts up again on Friday, Sept 6th.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again on Fridays right after school.

We are 3 months away from the 2nd Annual Scholastic Invitational Chess Tournament for Catholic Schools. In preparation for the Apr 28th annual chess tournament, I am asking for volunteers. It took about 8 dedicated people to run the tourney last year. This year we expect with it’s growth, we are going to need between 10 to 12. This event can be a great oppty for service hours for High School students.
I am hosting an information session on Thursday Feb 8th at 4pm CST. See the Zoom link below. During this session we will discuss the different roles needed and the updated set-up for the tournament. It’ll be a great source of info, even if you just want to learn more about the event.
Reply and I will send you the calendar invite, but the link below will work on it’s own.
